Groove Armada probably wasn't talking about Cape Cod when they wrote this song but upon hearing it for the first time, Massachusetts' curly peninsula immediately came to mind. Almost every summer I've spent from a couple of days to a week bumming around on Cape Cod-- because that's what you do on the Cape, bum around. Totally a vacation spot and less of extreme adventuring, it has the best beaches in Massachusetts and arguably the best seafood (so I've heard... I hate any food that came from the ocean). Old Silver beach is my personal favorite, with warm currents hailing from the Gulf of Mexico. If you like your ocean cold, just drive two seconds to the other side of the cape where the water is considerably warmer than its origins, the north pole, but still cold. If the beach starts to get old, you can always bike, hike or kayak the marshes. If you need a little more urban excitement, Provincetown never gets old. One of the gay capitols of America, Provincetown is full of rockin' bars, salons, restaurants, beaches and shows. The main drag is literally the main drag as you're sure to run into a performing queen or two. Provincetown is small, but still one of the most fun places I've ever visited. Also be sure to check out Moby Dick's restaurant.. especially XploreU travelers! The restaurant is covered in photos taken all over the world, of customers wearing Moby Dick's t-shirts! One of my goals is to travel somewhere no other Moby Dick's customer has been yet, a very difficult task. If for no other reason, run down to Cape Cod just to pick up the t-shirt and begin the challenge!
