Are travel guides really very useful? Better question: do young people use travel guides when they are out and about in the world? With the internet and our youthful selves, everyone I know usually buys a ticket, books a hostel and then wings it. I'll use the internet to look up any attractions to put on my list of places I must see. I used Rick Steve's guide to Greece once and found it pretty useful, but did most of the planning from my computer. I almost never think to use a travel guide because frankly, I feel that it won't have the information I'm looking for. Are they simply geared towards older people? I suppose this is why XploreU is such a good idea.
